You must:
meet the minimum language level of:
1)CLB 7 for TEER 0 or TEER 1 occupations
2)CLB 5 for TEER 2 or TEER 3 occupations
at least 1 year of Canadian Skilled Work Experience in last 3 years (Total 1,560 hours in 1 year or 30 hours per week),:
a) full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours) .
b) equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours) .
c) full-time at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours).
having earned work experience through employment in Canada while holding a temporary resident visa with a valid work authorization.
According to the 2021 Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC), skilled work experience means canadian work experience in an occupation listed in 1 or more of these NOC TEER Categories:
TEER 0
TEER 1
TEER 2
TEER 3
You must provide evidence that you carried out the tasks listed in the lead statement of the NOC's occupational description. This comprises all the necessary duties and the majority of the principal duties mentioned.
Steps of CEC
A) For Students
1) Complete your academic programme in a Canadian-designated learning institution.
2) Apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit at IRCC (PGWP).
3) Acquire at least 1,560 hours of Canadian work experience in a NOC 0, A, or B position while using your PGWP.
4) Pass the required Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) test in either English or French, as approved by IRCC (a CLB 7 for NOC 0 and A work experience and CLB 5 for NOC B work experience).
5) Enter the Express Entry pool. The IRCC will attempt to process your application for permanent residency within six months if you are granted an invitation to apply.
B) For Temporary Workers
The most typical approach for a temporary foreign worker to apply for permanent residency in Canada is through the CEC:
1) Obtain a work permit for Canada.
2) Acquire at least 1,560 hours of employment in a NOC 0, A, or B position in Canada.
3) Pass the required Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) test in either English or French, as approved by IRCC (a CLB 7 for NOC 0 and A work experience and CLB 5 for NOC B work experience).
4) Enter the Express Entry pool. The IRCC will attempt to process your application for permanent residency within six months if you are granted an invitation to apply.
